Saint Rose is proud to introduce our new 3 year old program !

Saint Rose is proud to introduce our new 3 year old program the 3 year old students. As you know the 3 year old is one that is full of wonder. They spend most of their time observing and imitating whatever they encounter. Their days are busy exploring their world and discovering new things.

 All students entering the 3 year old program must be 3 by September 1, 2010 and be completely toilet trained no exceptions.

Saint Rose will develop the entire child mind, body and spirit. The students will learn about Jesus through daily Religion lessons, prayers and modeling of the Catholic Faith. The 3 year old program is a unique program as it will prepare the student for the Saint Rose of Lima 4year old program and beyond.

The teacher will use Art to teach. Art is not only a fun way to play but a fun way to learn in preschool. Art allows a student to use their imagination and is also a good release for emotions. It also develops eye-hand coordination. 

Language Development is an important part of preschool. This is developed during story time, Religion, group time, show and tell and discussions about different subjects through the day.

An essential part of the preschool day is social activities. Students are encouraged to interact with one another through group play. Students interact on the playground, in the classroom, during lessons and at lunch and snack. Students have many opportunities to learn how to cooperate with one another and learn to take turns.

Students learn math in a variety of ways. For example, students count how many cookies were eaten at snack time.  Other math games include identifying shapes, measuring, sorting and comparisons which lay a solid foundation for number sense.

Science ideas become magic to the young preschooler. Students are introduced to meteorology, biology, chemistry and physics in very simple forms. Teachers use books and hands-on games, art projects, and other activities to introduce the concepts to the students.

Preschoolers love music. Music is an important teaching tool in the preschool class. Three year olds can easily remember the rules when taught in a song to remind the children what to do.  Music is used to teach the students letters, sounds, movement, numbers, directions and so much more. Anything can be taught through music.

Physical Development is included through using large muscle play on the playground. The teacher will also develop large physical development through music, poems, block play and centers.
