Throughout the Year

Over the course of the school year, students have many opportunities to grow in their spiritual lives:

Daily Prayer: The school day and lunch begin with prayer each day and prayer is encouraged throughout the day.

Monthly School Masses: Individual grades plan and participate in Liturgies that the whole school attends on a monthly basis at St. Clement Church.

Christmas program: Under the guidance and direction of the music teacher, the whole school participates in the annual Christmas Concert held at St. Clement Church in Advent.

Children’s Masses: Alternating with the parish Religious Education Program, individual grades participate in the Children’s Mass held once a month on Sunday at 10:30 AM in St. Clement Church. Students proclaim God’s Word, greet parishioners and present the gifts.

Altar Servers: Students in fourth through eighth grades are eligible to become altar servers and become part of a serving team. New servers are trained in October of each year.

Liturgical Year: St. Rose School celebrates the Liturgical Year through appropriate prayer services, devotional practices and service projects. During Lent, the students pray the Stations of the Cross as they prepare for Easter and during Advent, students gather for a morning prayer service each week.

Devotional Life: St. Rose School honors the rich devotional life and traditions of the Catholic Church. Honoring our Blessed Mother, praying the Rosary, learning the lives of the saints (especially the American saints), processions and Holy Images permeate the life of the school.

Stewardship: The sharing of our time, talent and treasure with others, especially the poor, the sick and the marginalized is encouraged in every grade. Collections of money, food and other supplies for the needy (whom Blessed Mother Teresa called “Jesus in distressing disguise”) are arranged throughout the year. School-wide service projects are organized for the needs of the local community as well.

VINES (Volunteers Impacting Neighbors Engaging Students): Our parent lead after-school program focused on teaching students about stewardship. Please click here for more details.
